Homework:
Homework is given every Tuesday and
Thursday. It is due back the following day. These
assignments should take no more than 10 minutes each. Please
have your child's homework notebook in his/her backpack every day.
Homework will begin the week of September 17th.
At times there will be additional homework given. Please check the folder daily.
Jolly Phonics
Sound Books:
Sound Books should be kept in your child's backpack. Please
practice these sounds at least three times a day in
different orders. This is a very essential part of this
program. The children who put in the extra time daily are able to
write words without much difficulty.
Jolly Phonics
Homework Writing Books:
Homework Writing Books, along with a new list of words, is sent
home on Mondays, beginning in October, and due back in by the
Friday of the same week. Please dictate these words to
your child, do not let them copy them from the list, this will
defeat the purpose of this activity. We have been practicing
writing dictated words at school. DO NOT correct the
words your child writes. If you notice that your child is having
difficulty, spend more time on practicing the letters/sounds in the
Sound Book.
