There are no quizzes the first week of January.
Please prepare for an oral test that will take place in class the week of Jan. 12 - 16. Practice with your "Green Sheet" of questions. Each student will have a short conversation with me, using questions from this sheet. Practice, practice, practice!!!!
Review:
Definite and indefinite articles in Spanish.
The definite articles are the words that mean "the" in English. In Spanish, the words must "agree" with the word after them, in both number (singular or plural) and gender (masculine or feminine).
The four definite articles in Spanish are:
el, la, los, las
Use el in front of a noun that is masculine (in many cases, ends in "o") and singular (only one):
el libro el padre el hermano
el perro el amigo el lápiz
Use la in front of a noun that is feminine (in many cases, ends in an "a") and singular (only one):
la bandera la carpeta la madre
la casa la clase la hermana
Use los in front of a noun that is masculine and plural (more than one):
los libros los padres los hermanos
los perros los amigos los lápices
Use las in front of a noun that is femenine and plural (more than one):
las banderas las carpetas las madres
las casas las clases las hermanas
