Can You "Dig It"?
High Touch High
Tech is an interactive,
hands-on program for children that has been enriching school
science curriculums since 1994. On November 21, Tate Woods’ enthusiastic
2nd graders participated in an exciting High Touch High
Tech program called
“DigIt”. With the
help of a real scientist as their guide, students observed
different samples of rocks, minerals, and gems and learned how they
are formed. Students performed different scientific experiments on
rock samples and learned how real scientists classify rocks and
minerals. They also panned for real gems, studied their properties
and got to take their treasures home.
